Warlock and Purple Ice clips
« on: March 02, 2013, 04:15:20 PM »
Got these done last night and was able to make it down to shoot 2 games.  Lanes had a little oil on them as I had rings on the balls, but there couldn't have been that much!

Took 6 different clips....4 with Warlock and 2 with Purple Ice.

Pic of the balls side by side:

Purple Ice:

Overall....impression on Warlock is that on the condition I threw, it was a beast.  Very strong off the dry.  Not easy to play a down and in.  I will need more time with it to learn the ball, but I think it's gonna be a great first ball out of the bag!

Purple Ice I was very impressed with as well.  Strong ball actually.  Played great down and in and was easier to control overall.

New toys for Monday night!!

Very sweet rolling pieces! I didn't see that much hook out of my Warlock in league on Wed, but I'm assuming we had more oil. Fresh out of box shot 248, 221, and 175. Like the roll on the PIE as well! One I wish I got to try, but never did... Looks like a good 1-2 combo you got there G.

The lanes were already in use....exactly how much I am not sure.  They had Youth League in the morning but that's all and I don't think the kids were all the way up on lane 41.  But there was use, that's for sure because I took my Gladiator Pearl out for a shot and I watched that grab earlier than it should, though I didn't throw more than one shot with it.

Looks like a good 1-2 combo you got there G.
Will say this, liked the ball immensely!!  Will be interesting to see how these react on the new lanes I am bowling on.  I think they will both be more than fine, but, I don't see the PIE being what I was hoping for as I think the drill is going to be too strong for the ball.  Might have to put some polish on the ball to tame it down and give it a little length.

If all else fails, I will still have the ever faithful Gladiator Pearl and Blue/Green Centaur to fall back on.  And I still have a Slate Blue Gargoyle to get plugged and drilled as well as a Blue Sparkle Gryphon!!  Hmmmmmm....what to do!!

Nice problems to have! I threw my Warlock Wed first 2 games of league 238,227. I really like the way this ball rolls it is very versatile. More info to come.

Someone has to take one for Team Visionary.....so I guess I will be the one.  :D

I see the ball being a great 1st and 2nd game ball.  For me, it's then gonna be a drastic change in lines I think.  But the ball plays great with swing shot and down and in...so I can't complain.  It'll whether or not I can keep the speed up for down and in.

Got to use Warlock tonight in league.  It's not often I can play 3 games with the same ball....but I did.  Felt comfortable all night playing around 15-16 out to 5-8 board all night.  Shot 668 for 3 so I can't complain either!  Very happy with the ball to say the least since it really reacted well and more than carried.  Great drive as well...couple 9 pins.  Oh well!!

Got to use my Warlock all three games in league tonight as well. Was playing a down and in shot all night piping it over the 9 board all night. Shot 649, so won't complain, though I did myself in the last game throwing 7 strikes and 3 splits for a 199. Disheartening throwing 7 strikes and not breaking 200! Love the roll, hit and carry of this powerful ball! The coverstock is very versatile in the box 2000 grit. I can imagine this thing being a heavy oil monster if you took it down to 1000! Has anyone polished theirs up yet? Very impressed with the Warlock so far. Great job Visionary!

For both Spike and JD, per Jason, "the goal of the ball was to satisfy a wide range of styles and lane conditions" and in what you are thinking, yep....should do real well.

I think that a longer pin with some polish would work wonders for a breaking down lanes for many people whereas for Spike, with what he liked to call a heavier oiled shot, rougher surface to 1000 would allow for heavier oil shot.

Loved the fact that I really didn't move much last night at all.  If anything, I did loft the ball a little and took hand out at the end of the last game, still playing around the same boards.

And I will say that the lanes we are on are not ones that throw the pins around.  Last night, for the first time, they were!  Pins stayed low and I had some decent mixers which surprised the daylights out of me.
