Warlock Pearl
« on: February 18, 2014, 03:13:56 PM »
Have been shooting well enough with the Warlock lately that I decided to take the Nestea Plunge and purchased the Warlock Pearl.

I must say that this ball has to be one of the nicest looking bowling balls I've seen.  Color flows real well and is just a beauty to look at.

Looking forward to getting some use with this ball as well.  Based on videos, really looking to see what it can do.  And just in time for local City Tournament coming up.  Haven't bowling in one of those for the last 5 or so years easily.

Actually going to try and get it drilled today and maybe toss it tonight bowling with the high school kids we work with.  Will be after the 6-9 shift of bowling, so the conditions could be real good to see how this ball works.  Current Warlock drill will probably be used as I like the roll on the ball.  This should allow me to extend the line I would be playing for at least another game.

Current drill is, mind you my drill is offset:

             p
      O  O

             c

     O

Forgot I had this as it shows current drill:

My pearl was a little over under on a heavier shot.

Took the cover down to 2000 no polish and it smoothed right out.

I have better options for the heavy shot I normally bowl on, but on a med shot it is very very nice

Well, had it drilled the same as what I had for the Warlock.  Went out with the team last night and on a dry lane, which is what's there at 9pm, the ball is a beast.  Eventually I was able to control it with enough variations of hand (well....no hand!) and speed to where I felt comfortable throwing it.

I did video one just for sake of it.  I shot one game playing the line and managed a decent 220+.  Mind you, this is nowhere near where I would play.  But it was fun.  :)

I would think that it would be, but as you mentioned, I have other options for something that's heavier.  However, I would like to see how it reacts as drilled on a heavier shot playing down in and in...similar to how your brother plays the lanes.

Lately, that's really been the more consistent line where I bowl.

I do see the ball getting used though, that's for sure.

Mine is drilled 50 x 4 x 25  was looking for long and snap.   If i bowled on a little less volume i prob would of nailed it, but where I had to play it snapped to hard.

My brother does well with his on our heavy shot until the carry down hits then has to switch off.  Overall I do like the warlock pearl, but i do see more or less the same reaction as the Samurai

The fact that you feel this is true makes me think I made a solid choice instead of opting for the Samurai.  Given the visuals of the balls, the Warlock just looks so good going down the lane.

Throwing again Wednesday night with the kids and then next Monday in league, so I'll get some more time in with it.

Not that I want to discourage sales or anything, just they are very similar in reaction for me with semi close to the same drillings.
