What ball to take to gold?
« on: April 28, 2005, 04:55:51 PM »
Alright, I'm thinking about buying another visionary ball to bring to the Junior Olympic Gold Tournament in July (If I decide to go).  What I'm looking for is something that is a little bit more even rolling, anywhere from medium light oil to medium heavy oil.  I still want the ball to be strong on the backends and I want a powerful hit so that I can carry slop shots easier.  I was thinking something like a Violet Gargoyle or G-3 Gryphon would be good for me, but I thought I'd post here to get your opinions before I make any decisions.  thanks.

Check profile for Arsenal and specs.

Well, if you believe what Visionary says, The Frankie May Gryphon is their most versatile ball...........just what you are looking for "all but the most extreme conditions"

The Charaol Executioner is what you want.
If you drill it up label leverage you can adjust the cover
to handle anything you may run into.

I have used my label leverage ball anywhere from box to 1000 polish.

A Charcoal Executioner or a Frankie May Sig. are your best choices....

to answer your question Stormwick, I have really been impressed with visionary's stuff lately.  I'd like to get more experience with their equipment and see if their higher performance stuff is just as good as the slate blue that i have.  (hits like a monster for a urethane).

I never thought about the Charcoal Executioner.  That actually sounds like one of the better balls I could bring.  Like Rodney said, I'm a little afraid of the Frankie May Sig.  Because I've heard from people that its a monster. or it at least hooks more than any other ball they have out now other than the granite.

So what would the differences really be between the Violet and the Charcoal with similar drillings?

With the same drilling and same cover prep the violet wold go longer.
I also don't think that that the violet handles carry down as well.
