Will my Green Gargoyle fill this spot?
« on: May 08, 2007, 09:19:17 AM »
I have had a GG sitting in my basement for quite awhile now.  I've had it for I'd say 5 years.  It got a lot of use, but for some reason I just stopped using it.  The layout is label with about a 5" pin above the ring.  Instead of buying a new piece, I'm looking to see if I've got something laying around that will fill a hole.

I'm looking for something in between my 5.25" pin below bridge Horizon solid and my 5.5" pin above bridge Mercury.  I have both at OOB.  The Horizon is quite strong...I can use it on most mediums and a bit of carrydown.  My Mercury is a lighter to dry piece; still too strong on the burnt.  I have a short vid of the Mercury below that I took last summer to give you an idea of it's reaction.  The vid was shot on our old lanes (synthetics w/ Guardian), which were replaced with HPL synthetics.

I use grips now so I would have to take the Greenie to the shop since it is without.  I have a couple other options for this spot too, but wanted to get some opinions first.

Don,

I'd say it would.  As much length as the Mercury more backend than the Mercury more length than the Horizon and about the same backend.

On carry down Greenie may not work well.  Mystic would do better on carry down inside depending on a lot of varibles.  You've got the ball give 'er a whirl you won't have much into it.  Great ball for summer leagues where heads go because of our midwest heat and humidity.
