I love my Violet
« on: December 20, 2007, 01:35:36 PM »
Hey guys.

I've been bowling again the last few weeks subbing in a league on thursday nights.  I've been using a combination of my FMG, Violet Gargoyle, and if I need it my SBG.

Last week after struggling with the FMG, I put it away (after 183, and 189) and shoot 279 with a ringing 10 in the 6th for a 651.  This week I just brought my Violet and Slate and didnt even use my slate.

I shoot 270 out the gate, followed by 254 and 248 for a 772 Series.  The best I've shot in a long time.  13 in a row between the first 2.  Thanks Visionary for great equipment.  Its just a shame they discontinued my baby ..

Also, Since I've came back after my lay off I've shot 601, 633, 614, 651, and 772 for a total of 3271 for 15 games, and an average of 218.066. (all using one of those 3 balls + plastic)

LOL, nah.  I'm waiting until after the holidays to get any equipment, and yea MI 2 AZ I'm gonna hit up May's and try to get a couple to stash in the closet for a rainey day (or until something happens to this one), but I'm still in need of a step below this.  So your panic is still on the menu charlest. I'm just waitin till I get a good paycheck, and some of my family may give me a little cash (That should cover about 1 shipping charge ) for Christmas because they think I'm hard to buy for. But man, this ball rolls sweeeet.

Whew! dodged a bullet there.

I've finally got my pumpkin working: 238, 174, 260. (transition is a b*tch)
Still got to think about that Violet sitting in the basement ...

I hear ya.  I thought I was gonna let it get away from me a bit in the middle game as I moved left after I came high (4-9) and wiffed it trying to save, I left a weak 10 off my adjustment on the next ball.  I thought better of it and moved back right, and got firm.  Then I just got softer and softer with hand and did finally have to start moving feet, but by then the back end was cleaned enough it wouldnt slide in weak.

That Violet is calling your name.

I hear ya about the color absolutebowling.  My buds call it the sissy ball, and I've had a ton of women ask me questions about it.

Since I'm going from the Pumpkin (@ 4000 grit) to the Blue/Green Centaur (@ 2000 grit), I can't see the Violet fitting between them ... for the time being.

Even with the weaker drilling and 4000 grit surface, I would think there would be a big hole between the Pumpkin and a B/G Centaur.  The Violet would seem to be a perfect fit.

Possibly, but remember my Pumpkin is not only at 4000 grit, it also has a 5" pin to PAP drill. And it's a house blended pattern, most of the time. On a sport shot, there may be more room to put the Violet.

That said, I do intend to drill it up and try it. Just when, I'm not sure right now.
