$30,000 One Day Junior Tournament
« on: September 01, 2003, 11:53:35 PM »
Cloverleaf bowl in Fremont, California just had their annual Hillman Memorial Tournament.  The total prize fund was $30,000.  I think all the sponsors and other contributors deserve a big THANK YOU for their work with youth bowling.

The tournament was a adult/jr team tournament (2 adults/3 junior).  There were 44 teams divided in to a scratch and a handicap division.  The entry fee was $150 PER TEAM.  Only juniors received the money from the prize fund.  Every junior received at least $50 in scholarship money, which basicly gave the entry fee back to the teams.  The winners in the each division received $1000 per junior.  The $30,000 was spread over the 132 juniors (3 juniors per team X 44 teams).  A free Lunch was provided to everyone in the Center.

The Tournament is held on Labor Day weekend.  There is a waitlist to enter the tournament.  You can get your team on the waitlist.  If they ever make it a two day tournament,  they may be able to accomodate everyone that wants to bowl.   If it is two day tournament, they would probably make handicap one day and scratch the other.
