Desert Open 7/28-30: PBA Format, $1,000 min. first
« on: June 22, 2006, 09:29:37 AM »
Hi All,

Just a reminder that coming up soon is the 35th Annual Desert Open, at AMF Christown in Phoenix, AZ.  Entries are available at www.bowljbt.com.

This event will feature the exact current PBA National format: 14 games qualifying on a challengnig condition, followed by the top 32 bowling best 4-of-7 matchplay.  At least 3 females are guaranteed in the top 32.

The minimum first place prize is a $1,000 scholarship- we hope to max the event out at 96 entries and $1,500.

We are also finalizing a pre-event activity with Ebonite, the JBT's title sponsor, that should be very cool.

Flights can be quite cheap into Phoenix, and good hotels should be fairly cheap, as it's the off-season here.  The bowl is 15 minutes from the airport.

We hope folks from outside the Southwest will consider a trip out to the desert for this great event.  For more info, visit the website or contact us anytime.

Thanks,
Jeff

Hello,

Congrats to champ BJ Baker (who went 14-0 in matchplay), runner-up Matt Jones (who lapped the field in average all week), and 300 shooters Jones and Cameron Smith.

Complete results, and finals videos, are all at www.bowljbt.com.  Please visit it now.  No, NOW!

Thanks,
Jeff
