Junior Gold Q's??
« on: February 27, 2005, 11:25:24 AM »
I  was reading in a bowling mag that the minimum avg required to be a part of Junior Gold is 175. I just hit 175 today, and am at a pace to hopefully hit 180+ by the season end.

What exactly is Junior Gold?

How do you become member/a part of it?

Any other important info??

Thanks in advance for help.

I am not planning on trying to qualify till next year. Just, thought I'd try to get some info on it.

Is it held in every state? How much does it cost to try to qualify?
Anyone know a good link to read about this?

To become a member cost 30 dollars. yes the entry is 150 but you earn a spot in league or tournament.

Just to let you guys know that they stopped the qualifying through leagues now if your leagues have already bought their spots thats okay but from here on out you can not qualify through leagues just through tounaments.  Just an update that I found out a few months ago.

Since I'm carrying a 196, does that qualify me for Junior Gold?

Also, I have won a sanctioned tournament this season, so could that qualify me?

honestly, i dont think qualifying thru a league is right.. i think it should be done strickly thru tournaments... and only tournaments.. thru a league is too easy if you ask me...

Well some Gold leagues work where if you just join you automatically make Gold for that year. Now thats some crap, and I agree with you there. But in our Gold league, it is based off our singles point system, and the top two guys and top two girls at the end of the league get their Gold spots. Now that is more fair, not the "everybody and their mom qualifies for Gold if you just join" Gold league.
