Scores were low. Cut was about -70 for 8 games for the top 60 for the guys. I forget what the deal was for the Womens' Scratch and Handicap. I was -104. Doh... but at least I made it through the last chance to at least bowl match play. I also did commentary for Womens' Scratch finals. It should be up on the site soon... if the video comes up... we were having issues with the computer during the "show".

I had tons of fun out there. I hope all of you who are home had a safe trip home.

The scores weren't huge, but they weren't small either. Leader after the first 8 for guy's open was +145 or so, with 60th coming in more or less at -75. To make stepladder after 6 more games of match play, you had to be +175, not sure what leader was at.. I don't think it was more than +300 though.

As for the shot, for me it played similar to a reverse block, with the inside part of the lane being drier than the outsides. I saw quite a few people playing a straighter inside line (anywhere from 15-20 out to 10-15), not much room to swing at all. I thought the shot was fun.. not the usual high scoring tourney that the Invite was. Mark and Jeff did a great job for their first annual.

Hello all,

Final results (pending all eligiblity and average verifications) will be posted on our website, www.jbtsw.com, hopefully by the end of today (12/30).

Almost 400 bowlers (530 bowlers after re-entries) shared in over $30,000 in awarded scholarships.

Thanks to everyone who made this a very successful event.  Please visit the website for all details.  Both compliments and constructive criticism are more than welcome- you may contact me directly at jbtsouthwest@aol.com.

We hope to see you at the 2005 Main Event, and at aother JBT SW events throughout the year.

Thanks,
Jeff

Congrats to all the winners, and to all the top placers. It was a good tournament, and ran great thanks to Jeff and Mark, and I think his name is Brian (JBT staff). I think the shot was fair, not too tough, not too easy, and I just wish that I could have my first two games of match play back. Oh well, congrats again.

Robi Mandell
Vinner Brooks
Andy Byer
Brandy Silva
Cliff Byer

Also big thanks to Jerry Francomano and his staff at Texas Station for being outstanding hosts, all the folks who jumped in and helped at the merchandise table or ran an errand when we needed it, Ron Black for extra number-crunching, and our regular JBT SW bowlers and parents who I'm sure answered many questions for us...  THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!

Howdy,
Arrangements have already been made to allow for 6 on a pair through the whole house in qualifying, which if we use the same format, would allow for 780 entries.  Yay!

Thanks,
Jeff

Everyone I heard from had a great time at the tournament. I was sorry to miss everyone but I couldn't make it out this time of year.

Hey, I just posted earlier as I was in a hurry to get my birthday bash in check... but I'm home now.

I'm lucky enough to experience a JBTSW event before (2001 Kingman, I was unable to come to the past ones). From my past experiences, The JBTSW staff runs events that are run similiar to those you see in the big-time amateur events and maybe even the Tour, and it was no surprise to me that Jeff and the JBTSW crew stepped to the plate (and more) when the LVIJT folded.

I am going adult at the end of the season (after the Hawaii tournaments... or maybe even JBT-LVO... still depends), as the opportunities for me to bowl as a youth in my area are quite limited, but if I were able to live in an area where JBT was the talk, I would stay until I'm 22. I hope that JBTSW continues their success in the future, and if there are aspiring youth in my area who would like to see some good, well-organized competition in the national youth level, I would send them to bowl a JBTSW event.

Thank you JBT for a great week/event, and I would like to say hi to all the crazy people who woke up super-early for the Last Chance squad and made it into match play. Although I wish my performance at the tournament could have been better, I still appreciate that the club offered all of us an opportunity to compete this holiday season. Thanks again!

It was a very well ran tourny... i had a great time... the shot was similar to the collegiate shot, just a lil easier... of course this time i played the right part of the lane... shot was def inside, and didnt have much room to miss... def doin it again next year... congrats to the winners... laters
