Title: Gonna Try out Vegas
Post by: TheDude on October 16, 2003, 09:24:32 PM
Hey, myself and a crew of 4 other players all averaging between 227 and 205 are planning to go to one of the vegas JR tournaments. Can anyone help out with some directions towards websites?

LVIJT: www.lvijt.org
Killer B Promotions: www.killerbpromotions.com

that's all i know, for now. There should be a Sam's Town NO-Tap Tournament, and a Wipeout Tournament. Also, Junior Bowlers' Tour Southwest is doing a tournament in the area that week as well.

I won't be there because I'll be in the Philippines. I hope you make it and have a lot of fun there.

What kind of patterns do they run at the LVJIT?

I might be able to head to Vegas this Christmas, and was curious what to expect?

I'd be donating, but it'd be fun.

LVIJT is on the easier side, but the Wipeout (my favorite one, actually) seems to have a generally lower scoring pace. There will be one or two that will blow away the field, but finding a cash spot will not be high, but at times will be a difficult +80 for 5.

The surface at the Orleans is kept soooooooo clean, too. They have the Brunswick surface, which is a really hard and super-smooth surface. There isn't a lot of friction... not like on the AMF HPL or Heddon synthetic surface.

just bowl it. it's fun. there will be a boxing event, i think, on the 29th at the orleans, too.

Yeah the Wipeout isn't that hard to score on, but repeating your shots is what gets you to cash.

The Wipeout tourny might be a LITTLE easier if they decided 2 let you stop on the approaches, with a tricky shot at times, when your sliding every which way its hard to make consistant shots

Gotta agree there, the JBT at Santa Fe Station the approaches were really sticky, every pair they had to be cleaned. Must be a Vegas thing.

Well the Santa Fe station bowling alley I bowled on sunday were very sticky, the rest I agree on that being there really slippery. Usually never use a brush except vegas.
