Title: JAT Alum Derrick Salary Passed Away Thursday
Post by: daveyamo on June 30, 2006, 10:11:56 AM
I am sad to report that recent JAT Alumni Derrick Salary past away yesterday evening in the hospital.  He suffered a heart attack due to pre-existing health conditions and emergency room staff were unable to bring him back.  He was only 25 years old.  He will be missed by all of us who got to be a part of his life.

Derrick's last season with the JAT was 2001-2002 and he had continued bowling after juniors.  Any additional information that I hear I will post here immediately.

May God be with his friends and family in this very difficult time.

Dave

Awful news, I bowled on Derrick's team in 01-02, his smile and constant laughter will be missed.

Didn't even know of Derek...

...but to hear about some in their mid 20's passing away is just horrible.

Thought and prayers go out to his family and friends!!!

I didn't know the kid all that well, but I did get to bowl with him a time or two, including a 2nd place at JWTC. He was a great guy...one of a kind.

I've crossed with Derrick several times during my youth bowling career- from the old LVIJT, and even the CSC in Fresno. Every time, I crossed with the man, he handled himself like one - even off the lanes.

This is just a sad day for all of us. I wish his friends and family the best during this painful time.

I got to bowl a few tournaments with him before he turned adult, was a cool guy and a good bowler. Best wishes to his family and friends and like Mason said, RIP Derrick
