Hello,
The JBT SW's WILD FRIDAY NIGHTS return with our most insane format ever....
"TARGET PRACTICE"
Friday, April 14 at Cactus Bowl, Tucson AZ (the night before JBT at the same house), 9:30 PM
Here's how it works:
1) You'll bowl 4 games. The ONLY object is to bowl one of 7 'target scores' distributed between 80-220 (there will be one score between 80-100, one between 101-120, etc..) So you could bowl a 'target score' every game!
2) The prize fund will be distributed between all bowlers who roll a tagret score. (Example: if 30 bowlers enter and prize fund is $10 per, and 8 target scores get hit by the field, each target score would be worth $37.)
3) You may NOT throw a double gutter at any time- if you do, that game is disqualified. You have to at least go 1-out every frame. You can probably imagine the situations that develop as people approach a target score.
NOW, think about WHY this is so neat:
1) You'll find yourself having to make unusual shots to get exactly the right count to finish your game at a target score, thus 'target practice'!
2) Since the highest possible target score is 220, it does no good to throw a lot of strikes. Even good bowlers may want to 'aim' for a mid range score, throwing for certain counts accordingly. For example, you may get to a point where you are trying to only get one pin per frame to hit a target score, but if you screw up, you may need to hurry and strike in order to get to the NEXT target score!
3) your average is MEANINGLESS - EVERYONE has an equal chance to hit the target scores! EVERYONE could potentially walk out with a small scholarship for hitting target scores, or if only one lucky bowler gets a targest score all night, they win it ALL (yes, this makes this unsanctioned).
Entry fee is $20, and we're trying to schedule more Friday dates to do this. You DON'T have to bowl the next day's JBT to bowl this event! Come on down to have some WILD FRIDAY FUN with JBT SW!!
Thanks,
Jeff Hemer, JBT SW
