I'm not sure it's official yet, but I heard it was gonna be in Vegas. Almost all of the houses out here have 60+ lanes, so it'd be easy to host JOG. Red Rock Station just opened up it's bowling center, 120 lanes I believe. My vote is to bring JOG to the West Coast in '08, and Vegas is a great spot.

If Station Casinos won't host the tournament, what about Coast Casinos?

I don't see how any city could be more suited to host something that big than Indy.  3 80 lane centers with a pretty good interstate system connecting them was about as ideal as it gets.  Not to mention how nice the Royal Pin Centers actually are.

Sure there was, NCAA Hall of Fame, the Speedway, duckpin bowling downtown.  There was just as much to do there as there was in Dallas or there will be in Buffalo.  Indy is just a much better city for the reason which we all go, which is the bowling aspect of it.

The only good thing about Indy was the Steak n' Shake!!!!

Instead, it'll be like 100-110 outside lol. That's the only downfall. Personally I think there's more to do in Vegas than any other city that's hosted JOG. Like Theo said, there's plenty of hotels, and plenty of sites to see. My vote is for Vegas. =]

I completely agree, steak and shake, only good reason.

We want Vegas, We want Vegas. Vegas would be the best place for Gold. Plenty of hotels, plenty of sights to go see, and if u want ur little mini bowling then you can go to ESPN Zone in NewYork NewYork. Plus theres just many more things to do. Plus it wont fricken rain in the middle of summer when its 90 plus degrees outside like it has done in Indy, Florida, and Dallas.

We want Vegas, We want Vegas

Having went to every JOG from 2000 in Vegas to 2005 in Indy, I would honestly say the best place was 2001 in Reno. All of the hotel/casinos were 5 min walking from the Stadium so you almost never needed a car. Lake Tahoe was only a 90 min drive or so, and with all of the hotels and casinos downtown pretty much connected, it worked out no matter where you stayed. The Stadium held 2 squads and the Reno Hilton had the 3rd. I'm not sure if the stadium would be able to hold 2 squads anymore because of the number of participants, but I will say I had the most fun there.

PS. As far as things to do, partying and whatnot with bowlers from different states always dominated my time. And never once did I goto JOG with the Parents so my perspective might be a little different.

Junior Gold:

1998 Reno
1999 Orlando
2000 Las Vegas
2001 Reno
2002 Winter Haven/Lakeland
2003 St. Louis
2004 Dallas
2005 Indianapolis
2006 Ft. Lauderdale
2007 Buffalo

Lets see. Out of 10 years we have 3 west, 4 east, 3 central (as central can be)

Gold hasn't been west since 2001. We want Vegas!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i heard today unofficially Detroit was the host city for 2008. If it is, I don't exactly know how I feel about that, being home for me.  A good amount of the fun of JOG is the traveling part, but it might be nice to be so close to home. We will see.

sterling lanes is f'in terrible, hope you don't have a high backswing, you are in jeporady of injuring yourself at sterling if you do. sunnybrook will be a scorefest, and i guess century is alright. personally, i think taylor lanes would have been a better choice for a third center.

Being from the suburbs of Detroit, the city of Detroit itself is, as you said, dangerous. On the other hand, you will rarely find any "rough" areas in the suburbs, especially north of Detroit, around where Sterling/Sunnybrook Lanes are located. So, before you jump on the bandwagon and attempt to give Detroit and its suburbs a bad name, get your facts straight. I mean, it isn't the O.C. or anything, but every city has its good/bad areas.

(Rant On)

Well that figures, leave it to the USBC to not give people what they want.  at least this makes my decision on wether or not to move up easy.  If Gold isn't going to be anywhere out west for a 6th or 7th consecutive year then as far as I'm concerned most of the people running the USBC youth can go piss up a rope.  Now with that said I do understand that some of the people running it did vote for it to be someplace else, and that statement is not directed at them (aka Thekidsaremyjob).  It's just really frustrating that ever since the 3 sections joined into the USBC, the youth portion of it has been getting royally screwed on just about everything.  And yet I thought that the youth were the future of the sport and they needed to try and keep us around.  Well, I guess I thought wrong.
