killer b tournament?
« on: April 05, 2005, 08:51:15 AM »
Never bowled in the tournament before, not sure whether its worth the $90 to enter. 1 in 5 go to the national tournament, I feel like i would have a pretty good chance of getting it, but $90 is a lot of money for me. here is a link

Give opinions, do you think its worth it, or not? The idea that I could have an off day and miss the qualifying spot is the only thing that is making me leary of paying the $90.

it is well worth the 90 bucks... not only is it on sport... but if you qualify and go to nationals... its a  lot of fun and a good experience.... the format is different this year and is making it easier for people to go as opposed to before when only two qualified for nationals from the regional tournament sites... but im sure it will be as good... only thing thats kinda lame is that its restricted to high school bowlers... should be open to all juniors that are attending a college or that are in high school... but thats just me i guess.... good luck with that and bowl it...

As far as I know, Teen Masters is now limited to high school students only...if you're not in high school this year, then I don't think you're allowed to bowl. Check the website for sure.

alright thanks guys, I'm signing up for a tournament. I figure I will REALLY have a good chance since its only high school age kids that can bowl this.

Yeah I know, but I figure since I'm throwin away $45 at mjma's every month, I might as well just throw away another $90 at some other tournament. Spread the wealth, you know? You should see my tournament (mjma) average... embarrasing, its at like 182. Those 145 average tournaments during the summer were a killer

Stanski did you know that after you left MJMA a kid dropped out after the 3rd or 4th game so you would of got to bowl.

I have been told this many many times so far... and everyone always laughs after they tell me lol. I still don't understand how it would have worked though, would i have gotten to make up those 4 games that I would have missed?

Instead of bowling mjma's, I just went and played a round of golf after I left the tourney. I shot 79, first sub 80 of the year, so I am still satisfied with that day even though I am mad for not getting to bowl. Of course, all I had to do was strike out in the tenth of the last game and I wouldn't have had to worry about being an alternate anyways.
