LAKERS
« on: May 21, 2004, 10:07:43 AM »
Are the Lakers going to be stopped now? I dont think so. The only team that had a chance to beat them was the Spurs and they dismissed them. I want to know what you think about the Lakers and what your favorite team is. I know the So-cal bowlers here are mostly all Laker fans except for Matt Jones.

Who cares who wins?? Its the same old teams every year and I would NEVER root for a team with Kobe and Shaq on it. Then this year they add Gary Payton and Mr "cry baby" Karl Malone, so they should win..

On a side note, I'm sure Kobe will get out of his legal trouble because of his $$$ and because of "who" he is and thats just not fair, but oh well..

I would rather watch reruns of Andy Griffith than watch the NBA nowadays..

Like I said earlier, I could care less who wins..

OnlyBuzzsaw,

Just keep believing Kobe walks on water.. Regardless of the rape charge, he was a married man screwing another woman, but I guess thats OK since he is an NBA superstar.. I will agree, he is a great basketball player, but he is for sure NO role model for kids or adults for that matter..

Decker,

No I am not saying adultery is a federal offense, and if you read my post again, I never once said that. I just made a statement that what he did was  wrong and he is a poor example of a married man thats supposed to love his wife and family..

If it is found in a court of law that he did rape that woman, regardless of her past, he should serve as much time as I would if I did it, period..

Decker,

I would be willing to bet the house, he is found not guilty. His lawyers are making that woman look like quite a tramp.. Regardless, if she was raped, thats still against the law..

wow, crazy people in here, lol, like 95% of the athletes are not role models, they all cheat all the time, many stories have been leaked over the years, these players are on the road for a long time away from their family and they can get some so easy, kobe cheated...yes... but kobe did nothing else, the woman had a million things wrong with her, doctors said she was unsafe to herself twice, had sex with 3 guys in 3 nights, had been known 2 try 2 make her b/f jealous before, she is just a crazy liar, end of subject, oh yea and KG is a great player, but has no playoff experience and the Twolves have no way to compete with the Lake Show

Hey Decker... why not try to actually read what each post says before you start spouting off on your next one. Would probably make you seem a lot less like a 4 year old.

Your opinion... not mine.

But if you read this entire post again slowly, you're responses make little sense in relation to the posts they are responding to.

I was talking about how Kobe's lawyers are making the girl out to be a tramp.  Which I believe JKiser said that was against the law.  I am saying that when you press charges against someone you bring your past to the present.

While rape shield laws do serve a good and useful purpose (protecting the purported victim's reputation from being further tarnished), I agree with your sentiment and believe that in cases such as this, the rape shield laws should be allowed to bypassed at a judges discretion, if in his opinion, the facts of the case warrant it.

(Damn that was a long sentence!)

Well, then who should be the MVP?  Don't say Shaq.  Yeah right.

And I seriously doubt Kobe hasn't cheated with other women, and that his wife hasn't too.  I'd actually be surprised if she hadn't cheated too.

Decker, are you saying that Tony Parker, Malik Rose, Emanuel Ginobili, Bruce Bowen are nothings?  Tim Duncan is only the superstar that he is because of David Robinson when they were tha twin towers. Even when tha Suprs had both of them they couldn't win the title.  The only reason they won it last year was not because of Tim Duncan.  If you look back into the series from last year and this year you will see that everyone on the Spurs contributed.  In games one and two against the Lakers Parker was going off.  So you can't say that they would be in last place in their division if Duncan wasn't there.  To me, I don't think that Garnett should be MVP.  I'm not taking nething away from the man, but if anyone deserves MVP it should be D. Fish because of that remarkable shot with .4 seconds, because if he didn't make that shot I think that tha Spurs would have won the whole thing.
