Laughlin Baker Doubles
« on: May 29, 2006, 12:02:21 PM »
Final standings:

1) Andy Byer/Bill Grant ($350 each)
2) Theo Douthit/Christian Jensen ($250 each)
3) DJ Sloan/Brandon Allred ($175 each)
4) Cayson Coyle/Nathan Panaligan ($75 each)

This tournament was awesome, with the exception of a few delays that could have been cut down had the directors been paying more attention. Other than that, I recommend that EVERYONE bowl this tournament next year. The double elimination bracket finals was awesome, very fun. Congrats to Andy and Billy on the win, and to everyone else that bowled well.

Looks like the money doubled from last year.  That's good!!
Do you have the total results?

What did the other divisions do?

Thanks Theo, you're my idol =]

And Pentz, what made you think that I'd post results? hehe. And ya, DJ and I did shoot an 801 series in baker, it was pretty sick.

Theo, it wasn't jrbowler that was talkin crap about this tourney, it was AzBowler.

For those who care, the top 4 of division 2:
1) Eric Warren/Kris George
2) Cameron Smith/Shane Peck
3) Brian Ballard/Berman Sae-Aee
4) Jason Larcome/Foster Phandanouvong

quote:
Come on guys lets be mature..Carry is a part of the game sometimes you carry sometimes you don't..You adjust and learn from it to carry the next frame or game...

And when did bowling become all about money in juniors....its about learning and becoming a better bowler..not the money and this and that.

And Laughlin was a great tourney. Format was awesome.Who cares about the payout. Its all good and fun and a great learning experience..

Don't turn this thread into something its not..

I agree with Christian. Bowling juniors isn't always about the money. It's about gaining more experience through every tournament, learning something new every time. It's what makes you become great once you go adult.

Now, as for the carry everyone gets...Carry IS part of the game, sometimes you get it, sometimes you don't. Some get it more than others, and some get it less than others. It could be due to entry angle, rotation, ball speed, anything. Ya just gotta learn to adjust off of it. Now, in the stepladder on Saturday at JBT I had all the carry in the world in the first 3 matches, climbed the ladder to bowl Theo. Then I stuffed 3 10 pins in the 7th, 8th, and 9th frames. I moved every shot, tried to increase my entry angle, and carry didn't come until the 10th frame when it was too late. Bad thing was, Theo had all the carry in the world! (stupid lefty...=P) Carry was on his side, not mine. It's all part of the game. That's what keeps us comin' back for more. =]
