Just wanted to let you junior bowlers know that I will be starting up a series of tournaments in the St. Louis area (hopefully expanding out even farther) here in the next few months.  The first tournament is scheduled for December 14th, which is a Sunday, at Brunswick Zone Chesterfield in St. Louis, Missouri.  This will be a one day event.  The tournament is set up to have a similar format of a PBA Regional, but the feeling of a PBA Major.  You can check the myspace, which is where I will do the main updating at.  I'm starting these up for Juniors, because in the St. Louis area, there isn't much offered for juniors as far as tournaments go.  The scholarship opportunities on this tournament are quite good, and I will be paying out 1 in every 3 entries.  Entry fee is $50.

I will be posting a lot more in depth information about the tournament soon.  Basically, it's going to be a good amount of scholarship available, because the only expense we're taking out is lineage, so ~$38 of each entry is going straight to prize fund.

Here is the basic format of the tournament if you don't want to go to the myspace or facebook page:

Tournament Format

The following is how the format will go with the tournament:

Qualifying consists of all bowlers bowling 5 games.

After five games, the field will be cut in half.

Bowlers that make it past the first cut will bowl an additional 3 games (Pins from first five games WILL carry over)

After the bowlers bowl the additional 3 games, the top 8 will move on to bracket style match play - 1st vs 8th, 2nd vs 7th, 3rd vs 6th, 4th vs 5th

Match play games will be best total score of two games.  Bowlers in the handicap division will continue to receive their per game handicap for each game.

Any ties after the two games in the Round of 8 will be broken by a 9th and 10th frame roll off, higher seed chooses starting bowler

Bowlers that advance from Round of 8 will move on to the Round of 4

Bowlers eliminated in the Round of 8 will share an equal amount of scholarship, if all top 8 bowlers receive scholarship

If all 8 bowlers do not receive scholarship, based on the 1:3 payout, the eliminated bowlers overall score of the 10 games will determine their overall finishing position.

Round of 4 will again be the best total score of two games.  Bowlers in the handicap division will continue to receive their per game handicap for each game.

Any ties after the two games in the Round of 4 will be broken by a 9th and 10th frame roll off, higher seed chooses starting bowler.

Bowlers that advance from the Round of 8 will move on to the Finals

Bowlers eliminated in the Round of 4 will share an equal amount of scholarship, if all top 4 bowlers receive scholarship.

If all 4 bowlers do not receive scholarship based on teh 1:3 payout, the eliminated bowlers overall score of the 12 games will determine their overall finishing position

Finals will consist of a best-of-one game match.  Winners of each division will receive a trophy along with the first place scholarship.  In the event of a tie, there will be a one ball roll-off, highest count wins.  Continues until a winner is declared.
