so.. whos ready for GOLD
« on: March 06, 2005, 12:24:17 PM »
ok... i know it is 4 months away.. but seriously... gold and world team are the main tourneys i am looking forward to this summer, including the firecracker shooutout... but... for gold... who else is anticipating this tourney because it kind of is the biggest tournament of the year.... and... any predictions on what shots are gonna be out... i was thinkin it is going to be something dryer for the 3 shots this years since last year was oily... just wanted to throw this out there to see what people are thinking about when it comes to gold or if your not even thinking about it or still worried about qualifying.. just trying to check the specs and see what people think...

I am in the same boat as mason.  I was just throwing the ball like poop last year even though the shot wasnt hard. Plus I had a carry problem at DC west. oh well.

I think we will see dry this year. From bowling the last 5 JOG's we see 2 years of the same. I am thinkin' a torched shot like orange bowl in orlando.

all i kno is that during my 2 years of jog experience in st louie n dallas....forum was absolutly wallled in grand prairie texas......the wood over there played extremely well...this year will b nice cuz every house is anvilane....no breaks..just shot making

i heard orange bowl was rediculous...worst then four seasons in st louis....n from my experience...four seasons was tuff....im not gonna think about any shots or what could possibly be out on the lanes...i kno im ready....ill think more after bowling a fresh practice session

As of right now, I am no where ready for Gold. But of course by JWTC time I will be ready. I cannot wait, got many goals to get this year. It does not matter what they put out...oil, dry, walled, super sport haha, it wont matter. Florida was the dryest thing I have ever seen, and the one dry shot in St. Louis was no where compared to that one. Forum was walled this past year? Well I cannot remember what house that was, but nothing was truely a wall in Gold, and never should be.

I had never really got to practice on sportshots before flordia and finsished 213 I think. Orange bowl I avg 190-195 that day.

In St. Louis I shot okay at one of the houses and shot 11 something at strike and spare and low at four seasons. I was throwing my spare ball (maxim) and was feeding the hole all day but I could not carry for crap. Plus I was not making my easy spares. Orange bowl was a tone harder then Four Seasons.

Okay I looked at my equipment and relized I might want to invest into some lower end balls. Last year at DC west I did not bowl well at all. All over the place. I could not find any dry boards to hit. ON the dry shot I did fine. Wood DC house I was avg 200 going into the last game and I shot 140 something.

I heard there was no opening ceremonies. Is this true? Thank God if so. Not to be rude but there is only so much you can do in certain places they pick. I would love to go back to Vegas.

you need to compete in a qualifier for JOG, which is the only way.
