To all who bash Mushtare...
« on: December 03, 2008, 10:45:32 PM »
You guys always focus on the negative aspect of his bowling... i.e. not bowling well in the TQR, when last april he beat exempt pro Ryan Shafer in a regional on the Shark pattern. The "hardest" pattern on the pba... give the kid some respect, just let the 900s go instead of bringing that into EVERYTHING... besides, how many of you who bash him have bowled a TQR? I dont agree with the 900s, but you also have to let a person try to prove himself... which he has done, and with more experience can do again.

You're missing the point. His doing badly in the TQR further justifies crticism of the dishonor and embarassment he brought onto ALL bowling by those phony 900 scores. The USBC was backed into a corner and had to allow them, but the falseness of those scores caused them to pass a law prohibiting non-witnessed honor scores.

What he caused bowling can never be forgiven, even if he wins 100 PBA tournaments. He made us a laughing stock, when we needed respect.

Agreed ^.

Also I think the USBC along with the PBA is full of retards.  What do you mean they investigated?  LOL!  They can't even put up THS oil pattern for a televised tournament.  You are telling me they did something outside of their capacity entirely by 'investigating'? LOL!

Here is what really happened LOL IMO on the investigation?

USBC/PBA: So there is no proof that he didn't bowl the 900?

Bowling House Staff: Nope, I wasn't there!

USBC/PBA: Well then by default if there is no proof that he DIDN'T do it, then that must mean he DID!

LOL WUT!?

That goes out the window when you see 2 900 rings on his hand. I have to ask how many bowlers would take a 3 game 900 series set? How many of you would care if you pre-bowled it?

Yeah he ruined it for those who shoot honor scores pre-bowling but I'm pretty sure if he didnt beat the system somebody else would have.

The simple solution for people wanting honor scores without actually bowling them is this.

Start a league in a small house where you either know, or are, the owner. Make it a singles league, but be the only person who signs up for it. Pay all the sanctioning fees, and whatever else you have the pay the USBC for. Do whatever sir 5 900s in practice did, and profit. EZ game.

(I'm not sure if what I wrote makes any sense, but I'm over it)

IMO there are much more sophicated ways to bowl a 900.  It is funny how they say golfers are the most honest athletes and that golf is so close to bowling, yet bowlers are often full of liars.  Here are ways to bowl a 300 sophicatedly:

-Use a ball drilled outside restrictions
-Set an oil track on the lane that will guide your ball to the pocket
-Use lighter pins
-Make the backends near the pin area to your advantage (we all know what I mean)
-Sand down a temporary track area on the lane
-Bowl non-stop a game (reason why pre-bowling often produces higher scores than league play with start and stop)
-Have someone in the pin area above the pins knocking down pins
-Use pins with chipped up bottoms so they fall easier

-etc.

I am sure there are more ways.

I also agree with Charlest and I placed a towel over our camera and shot 900 for a three game set. If you didn't know anything about how the camera takes a picture and when it doesn't see pins, which it can't if you place something over the lens, then it calls all shots a strike. If for instances I'm pre-bowling away from the front counter and at the angle they can't see all of the pins they wouldn't know if I struck or not as was proven again by Brunsnick. So when they print off the scores it'll show that I shot a 900 series and that's all the proof that USBC needs is the printout from the computer! But, I have heard that he's friends with Ryan Shaefer who coaches him as well and that he is a good bowler. Just my $.02, Bruce

As I look at this situation, his ability as a bowler is totally irrelevant, since his honor as a man and as a bowler has been called into doubt to an extreme degree.

Not gonna lie.. the kid can bowl.. But when someone claims he did something that is practically "impossible" what was it 3 times?  Kinda hard to give the kid respect..  Unfortunately,  He will never get the respect he deserves..  which is sad.  And that is one reason why bowling is not a respected sport.  Just my opinion

You are rigth he will get no respect, but he brought it on himself.  And unfortunately the rest of us as well.

How is my post an ignorant post... the kid has shown he can bowl. Ok having 2 900s is rediculous, and obviously sketchy. Look forward not backward... he has done well in pba competition, but noone will give him the credit for it
